The craft story

One lathe, one pair of hands.

Warrior Woodworks is a one-person woodturning studio. We turn pens, peppermills, pizza cutters, ice cream scoops, seam rippers, cheese boards and laser-engraved goods — everyday hardwood pieces made the slow way, one at a time, because the things you use daily should feel good in the hand.

How a piece is made

Three steps, no shortcuts.

01

Choose the blank

Every piece starts with a block of solid hardwood — chosen for grain and figure, so each pen or peppermill carries its own character.

02

Turn at the lathe

The blank is mounted and spun, coaxed to shape with a chisel — one shaving at a time, the curve guided by hand and eye, never by a jig.

03

Finish & assemble

Sanded smooth through fine grits, sealed and polished, then fitted with hardware or engraved — ready to be held, used, and passed on.

The maker

"I'd rather turn one piece well than a hundred things fast. The wood tells you what shape it wants to be — you just spin it and listen."

— Owen King, woodturner
